Special Needs Acting Troupe to Hold Special Performance for Community

Troupe Working Towards Bringing Legally Blonde to Life

 

On Wednesday, August 3, at 10:00 a.m., the FREE Players, one-of-a-kind special needs theatre troupe within FREE embracing the talents of performers of all abilities, will be holding a special performance of their production of Legally Blonde, Jr. for members of their day programs and a number of local senior citizen groups. The special performance of Legally Blonde Jr. will provide the adult day services community the opportunity to see a full off-Broadway production. The performance will take place at the Bayway Arts Center at 265 East Main Street in East Islip, NY.

The community will be greeted, handed their tickets, buy their concessions from the participants from the FREE Day Services Program Without Walls. The Bay Way Arts Center CEO Bob O’Neill has partnered with FREE not only to host on stage productions, but to support job training experiences in the theater.

 

Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE) FREE Players, in association with the BroadHollow Theatre Group at the Bayway Arts Center in East Islip, will proudly present their adaptation of the award- winning Broadway musical, and smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde, Jr. on August 6 at 2pm and at 7pm. FREE and the non-for-profit BroadHollow Theatre Company are involved in mutually beneficial job training program wherein the theater receives valuable help with their day-to-day operations and the individuals supported by FREE gain valuable experience working in the community. As part of this partnership, persons with disabilities are offered the opportunity to explore and develop their full vocational potential.
