PBS has showcased a great piece regarding the national shortage of DSP’s and the need for states to address this systemically. Agencies in NY are requesting an increase of the COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) 3.2% and adopting the DSWE (Direct Support Wage Enhancement). At the local level, our advocacy groups have attended rallies in support of DSPs. This shortage is not just a NY based problem, but nationwide.
