FREE to Support NAMI for NAMIWalks Long Island/Queens 2016

Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE) announced that they will be sending a team comprised of members of their Behavioral Health Division to the 5K NAMIWalks (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Long Island/Queens on May 7th at Jones Beach, NY. Team FREE will #JoinTheMovement and send forty walkers to support NAMIWalks with the hopes of raising funds and awareness to help change perceptions about mental illness.

The Behavioral Health Services Division at FREE provides specialized, strength-based, recovery-oriented residential and day services to individuals ages 18 and over with severe and persistent mental illness. FREE offers Residential Services, 24-Hour Supervised Community Residences, Generic Community Residences, Young Adult Program, Mentally Ill/Chemical Abuse (MICA) Housing Program, Specialized MI / ID Community Housing, Apartment Treatment Program (ATP), OMH Supported Housing Program, Homeless Housing Program, and Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS).

NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMIWalks supports the mission-driven work of the Long Island/Queens NAMI affiliates, which locally host education programs, facilitate support groups, provide mental health trainings, advocate for access to services, and offer a compassionate place to turn for the millions of Americans living with mental illness.
