Celebrating Diversity Inclusion with Allison

October 10, 2019 | FREE Blog, News

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)! Today we are recognizing one of our employees in our Bethpage office that helps create a diverse atmosphere on a daily basis. Allison Hyman has been working here for 18 years now. As a resident in one of our homes for almost 30 years and employee of our agency, Allison greets everyone that enters our Bethpage facility most afternoons during the week. Of course she does it with a smile, always looking to help in any way she can. If you every stop by the Bethpage offices on a late afternoon, be sure to swing by the main entrance and say hello!

Held each October, NDEAM aims to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. NDEAM is led by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy, but it’s true spirit lies in the many observances held at the grassroots level across the nation every year. Workplaces welcoming of the talents of all people, including people with disabilities, are a critical part of our efforts to build an inclusive community and strong economy.
