For nearly five decades, Family Residences and Essential Enterprises (FREE) has delivered individualized, person-centered services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, traumatic brain injury, and other special needs empowering more than 5,500 individuals to live with dignity, creativity, and connection.

At FREE, we often say our work is like a dance.

It takes guidance, repetition, and trust. It takes talented instructors, daily practice, and the courage to try new steps. Most of all, it takes people moving together with patience, purpose, and joy.

Our Fine Arts Programs in dance, music, theater, and visual art reflect this spirit perfectly. Every week, people of all abilities gather to create, rehearse, perform, and grow. Some are picking up a paintbrush or trying choreography for the very first time. Others are preparing for a group performance with confidence they never imagined they’d have.

Every step we take, every note we play, every brushstroke we paint – we do it in harmony with the people we serve.
