Dear FREE
I cant thank you and your staff enough for the support, compassion and kindness that everyone has shown my daughter L. and myself during these very rough times. Just when we came to our darkest hour, you were our ray of hope. Right now L. is at FREE Respite in Melville , which is wonderful. She is going to program and is just a short distance from my house. I think she will be able to stay until there is an opening at FREE Assessment house.
Thank you for being our advocate and a very special friend. A donation is being made on L’s behalf to FREE
With Warmest Regards,
Barbara T

We are writing as parents of a young adult male who has struggled most of his life with a handicap that few have been able to diagnosis. Since age three our son, after being kicked out of nursery school, has been seen by psychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists, physical therapists and occupational therapists. We were given a number of diagnoses and now that we are where we are, many of them were wrong
Somehow, after years of searching, our son has been with FREE for about five years and is doing wonderfully. He has received tremendous support with FREE at every level. The CEO, Robert Budd is like a friend to our family. He is easy to talk to and very caring of all the consumers in FREE. There have been so many wonderful Medicaid Service Coordinators who have helped us so much. Our son has finished college and is venturing off to a career where he can be an independent, contributing part of our society. All we can say, is that without FREE we really don't think our son would have the optimistic future that he has today. From a family point of view, our whole family structure has been salvaged. Thanks so much all of you in the FREE community. We will forever be grateful for your help and support.
Sincerely,
Pat C

I am writing this to give my testimonial regarding your service coordination for my daughter, N. In a word, it is outstanding.
It’s a difficult realization to accept that one’s child is disabled and will always require supports. Navigating the system is not easy. You made the process tolerable and gave us hope that there will be a positive future.
We would have been lost in the maze of tasks to do if it were not for your guidance and support. You have been completely accessible, generous with your time, and knowledgeable about services. More importantly, you earned N’s trust and maintained her dignity in the manner with which you relate to her; this means the world to our family.
Very truly yours,
Gloria S

I am the guardian and advocate for a TG who has been the recipient of services for the past 5 years through Family Residence and Essential Enterprises, Community Services Department. Five years ago my family and I had to move T from a home where she resided for 16 years. It was not an easy transition and it was a time filled with questions and apprehension. From the moment I met her very first FREE Service Coordinator, I knew that T was going to be cared for in a way that a family member would care for her. Her health and safety were always a priority and her Service Coordinator advocated for her when I could not. The MSCs to follow were my eyes and ears when I could not be there. The Community Services team linked her to the most appropriate programs and has consistently monitored her well being on a monthly basis. The Community Services team should be commended for their tireless dedication and hard work!
Sincerely,
TM
