Terry’s Place Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS)

Terry’s Place is a “person centered” program that assists people diagnosed with a mental illness to work towards greater independence and improved quality of life in the areas of living, learning, working and socializing.

The inter-disciplinary team of psychiatrist, nurse practitioner, nurse, social workers and group leaders provide a diverse variety of group and individual services in a supportive setting.  One track of services is tailored to the needs of individuals with the dual diagnosis of mental illness and a developmental disability.  Another track serves people with mental illness using an array of clinical and art therapy approaches.

As a Personalized Recovery Oriented Service (PROS), a new model that aims to promote recovery from a psychiatric or emotional condition, Terry’s Place emphasizes identifying and achieving a participant’s most important goal.  With careful planning, empowering consumers, and increased staff resources, the PROS is a more effective, creative model for a day program.  Individuals will attend from 1 to 5 days per week to achieve specific life goals that the consumer identifies.  Gaining employment is a special emphasis at Terry’s Place.
