Medicaid Service Coordination (MSC)

Medicaid Service Coordination assists individuals with developmental disabilities, diagnosed prior to the age of 22, with gaining access to the Home and Community-Based (HCBS) waiver through OPWDD. We also provide advocacy and support with obtaining and maintaining individuals’ entitlements and benefits.

MSC Services and Eligibility Requirement

MSC is a Medicaid State Plan service provided by OPWDD which assists eligible persons with developmental disabilities in gaining access to necessary supports and services appropriate to the needs of the individual. MSC is provided by qualified service coordinators and uses a person centered planning approach in developing, implementing and maintaining an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) with and for a person with developmental disabilities.  MSC promotes the concepts of informed choice.
