Family Residences offers a full range of Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD) or the Office of Mental Health (OMH) certified residential alternatives for developmentally disabled and mentally challenged adults.

Services provided include skill development in the following areas:

• Activities of Daily Living
• Medication Maintenance
• Independent Living Skills
• Problem Solving
• Decision Making
• Travel Training
• Crisis Intervention
• Personal Development
OMRDD certified programs include two levels of 24 hour supervised residences:
Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF’s)
Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA’s)
• Each program provides emergency on-call coverage 24 hours per
   day, seven days per week.
The Mental Health Residential Program is a four step program with the ultimate goal of independent living within the community:
• Staff is provided 24 hours per day at the Supervised level.(Programs
   for the dually-diagnosed individual offer additional support.)
• The second step towards independence is the Phase 1 Apartment
   program. At this level, a counselor visits the consumer at his/ her
   apartment daily.
• Phase 2 Apartment program offers support a few times a week.
• The final step is the Supported Apartment Program. This program
   reaches out to serve the mentally challenged individual who needs
   assistance re-establishing him/herself within the community. At
   this level, counselors provide facilitative services to promote
   community integration.
• Each program provides 24 hour emergency on-call coverage 7
   days per week.
